Hi! My name is Ally Yost and I am a Traveling Self-Taught Freelancing MUA based out of North Carolina. Makeup Artist is my main title but I also proudly hold another title as a Dog Mom to the sweetest Boxer pup - her name is Gracie Mae and I'm obsessed with her.

Anyway, back to makeup-
Growing up, my mom had always been her own entrepreneur through Mary Kay Cosmetics. As I'm sure you could imagine I sparked an interest for makeup a long time ago, and ever since I've been thoroughly obsessed with it. At the age of 18 I eventually started my own Mary Kay business. I became successful at growing my own business and loved being my own boss. I had grown my own team of girls and was even on target at one point for a Mary Kay car. I had the coolest opportunity where Mary Kay producers came to my house to interview me and I was lucky enough to be a part of a campaign they were doing within the company in 2017 for millions of Mary Kay consultants to see (No pressure). This had to have been the most amazing experience that I will never forget. Mary Kay was such a blessing but after three years I decided to move on to another chapter with my Artistry.

After MK I moved on to Sephora. Sephora is the beast of all makeup worlds and I wanted more than anything to learn about EVERY brand they offered. Since I grew up on Mary Kay that's really all I ever knew. After working at Sephora I can honestly say I even shocked myself with how quickly my artistry grew in just a year. I guess when you're constantly practicing something 5-6 days out of the week for a year straight you're bound to improve. One of the biggest growths I had working at Sephora was growing the confidence that I could do anyone's makeup. I wanted to be the kind of artist that never felt stumped when getting a client and I wanted every single one of my clients to leave feeling absolutely beautiful. Sephora gave me the confidence to do makeup on anyone of any age, complexion, skin-type, and any type of makeup look from editorial to a classic soft-glam. After Sephora I decided to pursue my dream of freelancing independently and continue doing what I love on my own outside of the retail world.

I'm forever grateful for both Mary Kay who gave me the knowledge of basic skin, makeup, and business ownership, and of course Sephora for the most product knowledge and diverse client experiences.
